Sometimes, when you put text onto an image with great variation in the background (ex. some dark parts, some bright parts, etc.) it may be impossible to have all of the text remain prominent and visible regardless of what color you set the text.

When this happens, simply right click on the layer in Photoshop and select “Blending Options…”:

Then, in the resulting window, select “Stroke”. The checkbox beside it should automatically check itself. You should see a preview on the image, with a stroke around the text. You can change the opacity, size, and color of the stroke around the text in the window.

When you’re done, press “OK” and your changes will be saved.
